The Wilton High football team may not be heading to the post-season, but the Warriors can still have a say in who does.

Trinity Catholic, Wilton's opponent in the FCIAC Thanksgiving rivalry game Thursday morning, needs a victory over the host Warriors to clinch a spot in the Class S state playoffs.

The Crusaders (7-2) enter the regular-season finale in seventh place in the Class S playoff point rankings. The top-eight teams advance to the state post-season.

Trinity comes into the contest on a two-game losing streak after starting the season with seven straight wins. Wilton, meanwhile, defeated Fairfield Warde, 14-0, last Friday to raise its record to 4-5 and can end the year with at .500 with a win over Trinity.

Because of possible bonus points involved, a Wilton victory could also help arch-rival Ridgefield, which is in the hunt for a playoff berth in Class LL.

The Wilton-Trinity game kicks off at 10:30 Thursday morning at Memorial Stadium.
