Ridgefield's top gun, Jonathan Spicci, was not in the lineup. Wilton's ace, John Collins, was this past summer's club champion at the Silver Springs Country Club in Ridgefield, which happened to be the location of Tuesday afternoon's boys golf match.
But for visiting Wilton, this seemingly favorable equation didn't add up to a victory, as the Tigers emerged with a 160-172 triumph.

Ridgefield (13-2) was led by Hunter Tuccio and Dan Kile, who both shot 39. Following them were David Dobson and Sean Brady, who both shot 41.

For the Warriors (9-4), Collins paced the squad with a 40. He was followed by Sam Marsh (41), Alex Birch (45) and Scott Caggainello (46).

Highlights included Ridgefield's number six player, Will Senesac, logging consecutive birdies to open his round, and Wilton's Birch sinking a 30-foot put for birdie on what he called "the course's hardest hole," the par three third.

Ridgefield is back in action Wednesday visiting Fairfield Ludlowe, while Wilton resumes play Thursday at unbeaten Darien.
