In a game that featured 14 first-inning runs, the Wilton High baseball team defeated visiting Stamford, 12-5, on Friday afternoon.

Stamford scored five runs in the top of the first inning and then didn't score again. The Warriors answered with nine runs in the bottom of the first and then added three more runs in the fourth.

Andrew Jacobson pitched six scoreless innings in relief of starter Ethan Segall to get the win for Wilton, which improved to 8-3.

Wilton's nine-run bottom of the first included a two-run single from Brett Phillips, bases-loaded walks to Jordan Prince and Scott Shouvlin that forced in runs, and wild pitches that allowed three runs to score.

Andrew Jacobson's two-run double highlighted Wilton's three-run rally in the fourth to end the scoring.
