Playoff games postponed due to storm
The Wilton High boys soccer and field hockey teams' FCIAC semifinal games scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, along with all high school sporting events, have been postponed due to the approaching storm.
The games have been rescheduled for Thursday at the earliest. The updated FCIAC schedule is here.
The boys soccer team was scheduled to play top-seeded Norwalk on Monday at Fairfield Ludlowe, while the field hockey team was to play Greenwich at New Canaan High School.
"All events for Monday and Tuesday have been postponed. The plan is to have all tournaments resume on Thursday, but the schedule will be subject to the conditions that exist after the storm," according to a release by the FCIAC.
"Under the new schedule, the volleyball tournament will begin with quarterfinal matches at the home courts of the top four seeds on Thursday, Nov. 1, with the semifinals on Friday and the final on Saturday, both at Fairfield-Ludlowe.
"The boys and girls soccer and field hockey semifinals will be held on Thursday, with the championship games moved to Saturday.
"The FCIAC diving finals and swimming trials are moved to Thursday, with the swimming championship planned for Saturday.
"Sunday, Nov. 4, is also an option for rescheduling events, although that would put some finalists in a tough spot, as the CIAC State tournaments begin on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 5 and 6.
"This schedule is tentative and changes could be made based on post-storm conditions. All updates to the playoff schedule will be posted on FCIAC.net as soon as possible."
