Girls soccer: Wilton trounces Trinity
The Wilton girls soccer team cruised to a 7-0 victory over visiting Trinity Catholic on Tuesday at Kristine Lilly Field.
The Warriors put home three goals in the first three minutes of the match and then did their best the rest of the way to not pile on more goals.
Annika Sheehan opened the scoring for the home team, followed by goals from Kayla O’Brien and Tegan Helms, as Wilton took a commanding 6-0 lead into halftime.
Four Wilton players netted their first high school varsity goals in the game: Sophomores Haley English and Mellissa Luse and seniors Lydia Freilich and goalie Liz Forster all put the ball in the net.
Forster started the game in goal and was replaced early by Lauren Kozakiewicz. Kozakiewicz, normally a striker, picked up two saves for the Warriors.
