Host St. Joseph opened a 27-point halftime lead en route to a 34-0 victory over the Wilton High football team Saturday afternoon in Trumbull.

Both teams are now 1-1.

In the first half, Wilton had one drive that reached the St. Joseph seven-yard line but ended with an interception in the end zone, and two other drives that got inside the St. Joseph 20 but ended on downs.

The Cadets scored four times on a mix of drives and long plays to take a 27-0 lead at the half.

A blocked punt early in the third quarter led to St. Joseph's final touchdown, which accounted for the only scoring in the second half.

Weston Wilbur had an interception for the Warriors, who also recovered a fumble deep in their own territory.
