The Wilton High field hockey team wrapped up a perfect regular season on Tuesday afternoon by blanking Danbury, 3-0, in Danbury.

The Warriors (16-0), currently ranked number one in the state, will be the first seed for the FCIAC playoffs. They will host eighth-seeded Staples on either Friday or Saturday.

Wilton’s only other undefeated regular season came in 2006, when the Warriors went 14-0-1.

In Tuesday’s win over Danbury, Wilton goals were scored by Madison Hendry, Emmie Arrix and Caroline Taverna. Joanne Nazareth and Kristen Godin each had an assist.

The Warriors finished the game with an 18-2 edge in shots on goal.

Lizette Roman-Johnston made two saves for her 13th shutout of the season. Wilton has outscored its opponents this season, 62-3.
