Top-seeded host East Lyme ended the Wilton High girls soccer team's season Wednesday afternoon by defeating the Warriors, 2-1, in a Class L state tournament quarterfinal game.

The ninth-seeded Warriors ended the season with an 11-5-4 record.

The teams played to a scoreless first-half tie. Wilton scored first in the second half on a goal by Annika Sheehan, assisted by Kayla O’Brien.

But Wilton held the one-goal lead for only three minutes, as East Lyme came right back and tied the game at 1-1. The hosts then got the game-winner two minutes later.

Liz Forster was in goal for Wilton and had two saves, while the East Lyme goalie made seven saves in net. Wilton had 16 shots on goal, to four for East Lyme.
