The Wilton High boys soccer team built a 3-0 lead and held on for a 3-2 win over visiting Trumbull on Tuesday afternoon.

The Warriors got first-half goals from Luke Reyes-Guerra-Dunn in the 18th minute and Sean Dedrick in the 21st minutefor a 2-0 halftime lead. Both Wilton players headed in their scores.

David Brown assisted on the first goal and Reyes-Guerra-Dunn assisted on Dedrick’s score.

Wilton upped the lead to 3-0 with 19:31 left in the game when Kyle Dedrick scored, assisted by Brown.

The Eagles kept up their pressure and hard physical play and it paid off with goals with 8:23 and 7:10 remaining in the contest. But the Warriors were able to hold on for the 3-2 victory.

The Warriors had nine shots on goal to 12 for Trumbull. Peter Como started in net for Wilton and had five saves and let in one goal. Como was replaced late in the game by Zachary Haas, who also allowed a goal.

The win gives Wilton a 9-2-1 record and moves the Warriors into third place in the FCIAC overall standings.
