The Wilton High boys soccer team fell to the Westhill Vikings of Stamford, 4-2, on Saturday at Kristine Lilly Field.

Westhill coach Joe Andrews told his team to keep it simple, work hard, and have fun. They did, and it paid off with a victory over the Warriors.

The loss drops Wilton to 8-2-1 on the season, while the Vikings upped their record to 6-6-1.

The Vikings opened the scoring in the sixth minute of play to take the 1-0 lead. Wilton tied the game at 1-1 in the 12th minute when Sean Dedrick found the back of the net, assisted by Kyle Dedrick. The teams took the 1-1 tie into halftime.

Westhill went ahead 2-1 in the 59th minute and added another goal with 7:39 left to play to take a 3-1 lead.

The Warriors kept the pressure on and got one goal back on a penalty kick from David Brown with 5:12 to play.

The Warriors had several close-range shots at getting the equalizer, but Westhill goalie Michael Iafrate came up big for his team. Iafrate had 13 saves in the game.

Westhill added a goal off a free kick with 12.4 seconds left to play to put the game away.

Filosamar Cordiero had the hat trick for the Vikings with three goals.

Peter Como was in goal for Wilton and was credited with one save. The Warriors had 24 shots on goal.
