Boys hockey: Trinity blanks Wilton

Trinity Catholic scored three unanswered goals in the third period to defeat the Wilton High boys hockey team, 3-0, on Wednesday night at Terry Connors Rink in Stamford.

It was the sixth straight loss for the Warriors, who are now 1-6.

Wilton has not won since beating Tri-Town, 4-2, in the season opener on Dec. 12.

Steve Lambrinakos scored on a power play just 1:17 into the final period to give Trinity a 1-0 lead.

Lambrinakos then added a breakaway goal with 5:20 to play, and DJ Davis converted on a power play with 2:39 remaining to end the scoring.

It was the first victory of the season for Trinity, which is now 1-5.

Wilton is back in action on Friday afternoon at 4 against New Canaan at the Winter Garden in Ridgefield.
