Wilton cellist Johnny Shiller and trombonist Jason Garrelick will join the Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra when it presents its first concert of the season on Sunday, Dec. 7, at 4, at the Ridgefield High School auditorium on North Salem Road. The concert will feature performances by the WCYO Symphony Orchestra, String Ensemble and Wind Ensemble. Among the works to be performed are \u201cRock of Ages\u201d, a suite of Irish songs, \u201cThe Lovers\u2019 Waltz\u201d by Jay Ungar and Molly Mason,\u00a0 Grammy-winning composer Eric Whitacre\u2019s \u201cSeal Lullaby,\u201d Mozart\u2019s \u201cOverture\u201d to Don Giovanni, Saint-Sa\u00ebns\u2019 Danse Macabre, and Dvorak\u2019s American Suite. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and children under 12, and may be purchased at the door. The Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra consists of 85 young musicians from 12 different towns.
