Three master gardener interns were at Wilton\u2019s pocket park on River Road Friday, June 30, spreading the word about the Pollinator Pathway and planting pollinator-friendly plants along the banks of the Norwalk River. Christina Smith manned a tent along the road while Lindy Hennessy and Karen Murchison planted ferns, milkweed, goldenrod, hyssop, and grasses along the river. That was after they pulled out invasives including mugwort, stilt grass, bittersweet, garlic mustard, and poison ivy. The women were performing community service as part of their master gardener training. Volunteers promoting the Pollinator Pathway were also at the site working June 24, 26, and 27.
