The Southern Connecticut Camerata will present its spring concert, \u201cNew Leaves, New Loves,\u201d Sunday, April 27, 5 p.m., at St. Matthew\u2019s Episcopal parish hall, 36 New Canaan Road. The concert will feature Italian madrigals based on texts from Il Pastor Fido, the 1590 pastoral tragicomedy by Italian poet Giovanni Battista Guarini.\u00a0 \u00a0 Audience members will sit at round, cloth-covered tables and enjoy wine or sparkling water, as well as light hors d\u2019oeuvres. Madrigals will be interspersed with several instrumental pieces attributed to Vivaldi, performed with flute and harpsichord. The choir will perform from various locations in the room, providing an \u201cup close\u201d experience for concert-goers. The program includes works by d\u2019India, Monteverdi and Marenzio.
