A group of Fairfield County photographers will display their interpretations of dancers warming up, performing and at rest, in an exhibition at Fleur de Lis Academy, 27 Danbury Road. The photography show, which opens on Sept. 20, coincides with an open house gala for the Encore Youth Company, the new dance company founded by Fleur de Lis owner Michelle Sperry. The show will include works by eight accomplished photographers: Justin Baiad, Peggy Garbus, Xenia Gross, LarJ, Moments by Andrea, Nina Pomeroy, Debra Somerville, and Ema Whittaker. “My vision was to create a living art gallery by combining the visual art of photography with the performing art of dance,” Ms. Sperry said in a press release. “The participating photographers have captured their unique interpretations of the dancers and created beautiful and arresting images.” The open house gala for the new Encore Youth Company will take place from 3 to 6, and the photographs will remain on display through the 2014-15 dance season. Both the photography show and the gala are open to the public, and among those expected to be in attendance are State Sen. Toni Boucher R-26) and State Rep. Gail Lavielle (R-143).
