St. Luke\u2019s environmental science teacher David Havens will lead the Norwalk River Watershed Association\u2019s annual amphibian walk on Sunday, April 3, at 1, in Merwin Meadows. A member of the association\u2019s board, Havens will begin with a short introduction on amphibians and how to spot them, followed by a \u00a0woodland hike along the Norwalk River to visit vernal pools coming to life with salamanders, newts, frogs and toads. Participants may discover some of the many species in this area, search for eggs and tadpoles, and learn about amphibian development. Participants should meet at the hiking trail entrance off the parking lot at Merwin Meadows, at the end of Lovers Lane. Tall, waterproof boots are suggested. All ages are welcome to this free event, which is co-sponsored by the Wilton Garden Club and the watershed association.
