Youth United gets crafty

Members of Wilton’s Youth United came together this month to make crafts from cork and wood to raise money for the group’s Habitat house to be built on 84 Maple in Bridgeport. Students in elementary, middle and high school worked on sanding apple wood for cheese boards, and constructing coasters and trivets from corks. The items will be for sale at Open House in Wilton Center for holiday gift buying in exchange for a donation to Youth United. Coasters are $3, trivets are $7 and cheese boards are $10. The Wilton chapter will get a double bonus from a matching State Farm grant. Information: margie.holcombe@gmail.com.
