Wilton artists invited to library’s summer show
Wilton Library is looking for artists for its 74th annual Wilton Artists Summer Show, which runs throughout the library in July and August. Adult artists who live or work in Wilton are invited to submit up to two works on Friday and Saturday, June 29 and 30, from 10 to 4.
The works for this non-juried exhibition may include paintings, pastels, drawings and sculptures. With the exception of the sculptures, pieces must be framed and wired, ready for hanging. There are no entry fees; a 20% commission on sold works will apply. Photography will not be accepted since photographers may share their works in the Wilton Arts Council Focus exhibitions in March each year.
Ed MacEwen, art chairman for the library, said of this annual event, “This is a fun show to coordinate. It’s great to see artists returning every year, giving their friends and families a chance to see what they’ve been working on over the winter. We see new talent emerge every year, too, which is quite exciting.”
The artists’ reception is set for Friday, July 13, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public. The exhibition runs through Tuesday, Aug. 28. The media sponsor for the exhibition is The Wilton Bulletin.
