Wilton artisan at craft fair

Lynda Campbell of Saltbox Press, a Wilton resident for more than 29 years, will be among the artisans participating in the Ridgefield Woman’s Club Craft Fair, Saturday, Nov. 22, in the East Ridge Middle School, 10 East Ridge Road, Ridgefield.

The craft fair, which takes place from 10 to 4, will feature hand-crafted items including holiday and home décor items, knits, jewelry, pottery, food gifts, children and pet gifts and more.

Ms. Campbell came to printing by way of painting. She painted watercolor cards for friends and was encouraged to sell them, but she knew she needed to add text. After taking classes at The Center for Book Arts in New York City, she realized she found her passion —  letterpress. A year later she acquired a press and launched Saltbox Press in the basement of her antique saltbox house.

Ms. Campbell’s images are mostly vintage while her watercolors are her original work. Saltbox features a boxed calendar, boxed cards and individual cards for all occasions.

Refreshments and light lunch will be available for purchase at the fair. Admission is $7; children under 12 are admitted free. Proceeds benefit local scholarships and community programs.
