The Wilton Singers has openings in its tenor and bass sections and will hold auditions by appointment during the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 25. Auditions may also be arranged for another date if necessary.
Those interested should be prepared to sing a song of any style. Candidates may bring music for an accompanist or choose to sing a capella. The audition will also include an assessment of vocal range and a few measures of sight singing from sheet music.
The Wilton Singers is a community singing group that was founded to provide an outlet for adult participation in ensemble singing, and to support for the Wilton High School choral music program. The current roster includes founding members, past Wilton [High School] Madrigal Singers, and men and women of all ages, representing 10 towns in the area.
The group rehearses on Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wilton Episcopal and Presbyterian Complex (WEPCO), 48 New Canaan Road, in Wilton. The concert season — the group’s 33rd — begins with rehearsal the first Tuesday after Labor Day and ends mid-May. There is a social hour after rehearsal, with refreshments provided by a different pair of members each week.
