A Disney Channel smash hit will come to life on the Middlebrook auditorium stage when the Wilton Children’s Theater presents High School Musical On Stage the weekend of Nov. 18-20.
High School Musical is a contemporary musical comedy about a popular high school basketball star named Troy Bolton and a shy, academically gifted newcomer named Gabriella Montez, who discover they share a secret passion for singing.
Fifty-five fourth through eighth graders will perform in the Wilton Children’s Theater production, directed by Skip Ploss and choreographed by Judy Abbatiello.
The show features a number of upbeat musical numbers directed by Barbara Speare, including "Start of Something New,” "Get'cha Head in the Game" and “We’re All in This Together.”
Not only is this year the 10th anniversary of the original Disney Channel production, but it’s also Ploss’ 10-year anniversary at the children’s theater, which coincidentally began with a production of High School Musical.
Showtimes for the Wilton Children’s Theater production are:
- Friday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 19, at 4 p.m.
- Sunday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $12 when purchased in-person, and $12.60 online here.
In-person ticket purchases can be made at the Village Market on Thursday, Nov. 17 and Friday, Nov. 18, from noon to 2, and at Middlebrook School on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 4:30 to 6:30.
