Lepidopterist Victor DeMasi will lead a butterfly walk Sunday, July 10, 1 p.m., at Keeler’s Ridge Meadow. Presented by the Wilton Conservation Commission, the walk is free and open to the public.

DeMasi is a widely published expert who specializes in swallowtails and preserves butterflies in Yale’s Peabody Museum of Natural History. He and his wife Roanna have explored the forests of Guyana and Nicaragua, and the Southern California Montane Botanic Garden seeking out butterflies.

Those joining the walk should wear closed-toe shoes, long pants tucked into socks, long-sleeved shirts and a hat. Refreshments will be served following the walk with an opportunity to ask questions. Please park along the split-rail fence that fronts Route 33, or just north of the property on Carriage Road.

Register at conservationevent@wiltonct.org and include the number of people planning to attend and a phone number where you can be reached if the event is canceled for any reason.
