The long and short of it

Regina Heit of Wilton donated 12 inches of hair to Locks of Love on Sept. 7. A stylist at the Adam Broderick Salon in Ridgefield did the honors. Regina is a senior at Wilton High School and it took her about two years to grow her hair to her waist, according to her mother, Robin. Regina got the idea to donate her hair and it made her feel great knowing that she could help a child feel better, Ms. Heit said. Locks of Love is a charity that provides hairpieces to financially needy children suffering long-term hair loss from a medical diagnosis.
