The Nutcracker in Wilton

In one of the season’s most beloved traditions, Wilton Dance Studio will present The Nutcracker ballet on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 1 and 4:30 p.m., at the Clune Center for Performing Arts at Wilton High School, 395 Danbury Road.
The full-scale production features more than 80 students and adults from Wilton and six area towns, including three Wilton High School seniors: Hayley (Snow Queen) and Lizzie MacDonald (multiple roles) and Parker Mavis (Sugar Plum Fairy). Many dancers start in the production at age three or four and learn new parts as they progress, like Kristina Torkelsen, now in eighth grade at Middlebrook School and performing in several roles this year.
“This production has become a holiday tradition for our dance families, and for our family, too,” said Brenda Froehlich, the dance studio’s owner and creative director. “This year we have several parents who are sharing the stage with their children, and it’s always special when multiple generations enjoy the performance experience together.”
