Summertime Classics: Mozart’s Requiem
The Music on the Hill Summer Chorus will present Mozart's Requiem, with soloists and orchestra, led by artistic director Ellen Dickinson, conductor. The concert takes place on Thursday, July 28, at 8 p.m. at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 48 New Canaan Road.
This year's 70-member Summer Chorus is the largest in the group's 14-year history. It draws singers from across the region each July to rehearse and perform a major choral-orchestral work.
The Summer Chorus has presented cantatas by J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, the Brahms Requiem, and Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, among others. Dickinson is its founding director.
Concert tickets are $20 in advance; $25 at the door. Students are admitted free. Tickets may be purchased online at musiconthehillCT.org or reserved at 203-529-3133.
