Music on the Hill invites singers to join in choral classics on Tuesdays in August. Each week features a different work with a different conductor.

Singers may attend one session or many; may join in for a familiar favorite or try something new. All are welcome, including high school singers.

The series begins on Aug. 2 with Mendelssohn's Elijah led by Marguerite Brooks of the Yale School of Music and Institute of Sacred Music.

Subsequent Summer Sings will be led by Fiona Smith Sutherland, Aug. 9, about to begin her tenure as music director at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Wilton; David H. Connell, Aug. 16, director of Music and Worship Arts at Norfield Church in Weston; and Ellen Dickinson, Aug. 23, who served for 11 years as Norfield's director of Music. Connell and Dickinson both hold advanced degrees from Yale and are Music on the Hill artistic directors.

Summer Sings are free, with donations gratefully accepted. Scores will be provided.

Summer Sings will take place from 7 to 9, at Wilton Presbyterian Church at WEPCO, 48 New Canaan Road. Musical selections may be found at www.musiconthehillCT.org after Aug. 1. Direct questions to info@musiconthehillCT.org or 203-529-3133.
