Singers invited for Summer Chorus

Music on the Hill invites singers to rehearse and perform the Mozart Requiem as part of this July's Summer Chorus. Artistic Director Ellen Dickinson will conduct.

Rehearsals are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m., starting July 5, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 48 New Canaan Road. The concert will take place on Thursday evening, July 28, also at St. Matthew's.

The 60-voice Summer Chorus draws singers from across the region to rehearse and perform a major choral-orchestral work each July. Participants include members of church and community choirs, high school singers, and others seeking to return to singing. All are welcome.

This is the 14th year of the Summer Chorus, its fifth under the auspices of Music on the Hill. Past years have included performances of cantatas by J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn's Elijah with a two-piano orchestration by Artistic Director David H. Connell, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, and the Dvorak Te Deum.

A minimum $40 contribution is suggested to participate in Summer Chorus, and singers must register in advance. Email
