Santa Claus visits Wilton Library

Santa Claus made a special, albeit rain-filled, visit to Wilton Center last Friday, where he made sure to collect as many holiday gift lists as he could.

Though the rain kept him off of the Town Green, Santa arrived at the library aboard Wilton Fire Department’s brand new Engine Four. A quickly growing crowd of children and their parents greeted him there, where a plethora of cookies and other treats lined a huge central table.

By the time he started taking pictures with children dressed in bright red dresses and special Santa hats, the entire lobby of the library was completely full with a line that snaked past the holiday book sale.

Santa’s visit was sponsored by the Wilton Chamber of Commerce as part of its annual Holiday Stroll, which encourages WIltonians to shop locally during the Christmas season. When it rains or snows during the event, Santa — Mark Ketley, of Trackside — is always invited to share Christmas spirit in the library.
