Running wild

Where the Wild Things Run — the 5K and children’s fun run that benefits Woodcock Nature Center — is set for Sunday, Oct. 15. The runs raise funds for the nature center’s environmental education initiatives.

The 5K course is almost entirely run on Woodcock’s trails for more fun. Runners, joggers and walkers of all ages are welcome although the trails are not stroller friendly.

Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. The fun run starts at 8:30 and the 5K steps off at 9.

Registration is $20 for the fun run, $35 for the 5K.

Parking is available along Deer Run and Fawn Place but is limited and will require up to a one-third-mile walk to the start. Participants are urged to arrive early and car-pooling is encouraged.
