The Wilton Police Benevolent Association (PBA) is partnering with the Riverbrook Regional YMCA to host a Zumba and indoor cycling event to support the Domestic Violence Crisis Center (DVCC) and its mission to end domestic violence.
The class time will be Friday, Oct. 14, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the YMCA at 404 Danbury Road. A minimum donation of $25 for individuals and $35 for families may be paid online at the time of registration. Visit http://bit.ly/2cIwi07 and search keyword DVCC.
According to Lt. Rob Cipolla, the Wilton Police Department’s domestic violence liaison, “domestic violence is a national issue, but not one that our small community of Wilton is immune to.”
The crisis center serves the communities of Wilton, Norwalk, Stamford, Darien, Weston, New Canaan, and Westport.
“Funds raised from this event have the potential to help support an individual or family from our community who has been adversely impacted by domestic violence,” said Lt. Cipolla.
To help raise awareness, police officers will wear purple ribbon pins on their uniforms for the entire month of October.
Anyone seeking further information or who wishes to donate may contact Sgt. David Hartman or Cipolla at 203834-6260.
