Light opera
Jim Cooper of Wilton, far right, will take the stage as a British lord when Troupers Light Opera performs the Gilbert and Sullivan opera Iolanthe in the Norwalk Concert Hall on April 11 and 18. He is joined here by Tammy and Rob Strom, center, and Tyler Goff, far left. Iolanthe portrays England’s House of Lords as a group of pompous twits, punished by a group of immortal fairies whom they have offended. The plot involves star-crossed lovers, frustrated by a Lord Chancellor who, though initially the villain, eventually saves the day in a series of typically Gilbertian plot twists.
