Families may meet the caregivers from Norwalk, Danbury and New Milford hospitals at the WEBE-108 Kids Fest on Sunday, April 3, from 10 to 4, at the Zeoli Field House at Wilton High School on Danbury Road.

The Kids Fest is an exposition designed for young families with entertainment, education and businesses catering to parents and children.  Physicians and staff will be present to talk with children and their parents and help familiarize youngsters with what to expect at a hospital.

Registered dietitians will discuss healthy eating for children and will also answer the frequent questions they receive from parents.  Pediatric nurses will provide information about health education programs. Health professionals will conduct blood pressure screenings, weights/heights, and “Ask the Expert.”

Physician assistants will teach children about their bones, while providing helpful information to parents about preventing osteoporosis.

The paramedics, EMTs and trauma staff will provide information on the Heimlich maneuver, phoning 911 in an emergency, and preventing traumatic brain injury in children. The ambulance will be stationed inside the field house for tours. In addition, informational literature and giveaways will be distributed to children who visit the Western Connecticut Health Network booth.

The Kids Fest will feature entertainment and throughout the day a number of cartoon-type characters will mingle with the crowd. Businesses and services catering to young families will also be present with information and giveaways.
