How the brain ages is focus of talk
The Greens at Cannondale begins a new health series by starting at the top, literally.
Dr. Dario Zagar, neurologist and president of Associated Neurologists of Southern Connecticut, will discuss The Aging Brain on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 6 p.m.
During his talk, he will describe newly discovered ways the brain ages and the latest therapies in treating Alzheimer’s and dementia. Why do some people acquire Alzheimer’s and others seem to escape the disease? Why do some forms of dementia respond to treatment and others do not?
Zagar’s experience with brain-connected conditions ranges from headaches to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Why is the pace of deterioration is slower for some, more rapid for others?
The Greens Health Series is free and open to the community. Dinner will be served at 5:30. For reservations, call 203-761-1191. Information: thegreensatcannondale. com.
