Barn, Blacksmith & BBQ — a hands-on history event — takes place Saturday, May 21, from 11 to 2, at the Wilton Historical Society at 224 Danbury Road. The suggested donation is $10 per family.

Families may try spoke shaving (barn pegs) and log sawing, see a blacksmith working, wear a yoke and carry water, weave on a loom, break flax, and raise a child-size barn. Children can dress up in Colonial garb. There will also be birdhouse building and a Colonial cook-off baking contest at an extra charge.

There will also be an on-site barbecue.
