Grange events: Silent movies, heart health

Cannon Grange invites the community to two events at its historic hall at 25 Cannon Road this month.
An evening of silent movies, with live piano accompaniment, returns Saturday, May 16, 7:30 p.m. Two features will be presented with an original piano score presented by Wilton resident and Grange member John Mucci.
A short film, Limousine Love, will feature celebrated actor Charley Chase. The evening’s main feature, Safety Last, showcases Harold Lloyd. Both films feature the comedic antics and stunts performed by the actors heightened by the piano music that closely follows the action. The Silent Movies at Cannon Grange Hall is an annual event enjoyed by children and adults.
Tickets may be purchased at the door, at $6 per person. Free parking is available at the Cannondale train station and at the Grange Hall.
An interactive seminar on Cardiac Health (re-scheduled from an earlier date) will be presented by cardiac arrest survivor, Nancy Capelle on Thursday, May 21, at 7 p.m. The Wilton resident will tell her story of how she survived both cardiac arrest and a heart attack days after her 40th birthday. She will discuss the various lifestyle changes she and her family have made since then and how to live a healthy life, how to find and use the numerous resources available in town, and the importance of knowing how to do hands-only CPR. Children, teenagers and their parents are encouraged to attend, as well as all adults. This program is free.
Both events are part of the year-long series on healthy living being held at Cannon Grange. Information: Cannon.Grange@yahoo.com, 203-762-1900 or cannongrange.org.
