The Four Seasons Racquet Club at 589 Danbury Road will host a two-part Junior Girls Chess Program on Saturday, Oct. 22 and 29, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Local chess teacher and expert-level player Glenn Budzinski will host the program for girls ages 7-13, and Alisa Melekhina — one of the best women chess players in the United States — will make an appearance on the first day.

Melekhina holds the World Chess Federation (FIDE) Master and International Women’s Master titles and is a perennial participant in the annual U.S. Women’s Invitational Chess Championship.

She has represented the United States in World Team Championships, World Youth and World Junior Chess Championships, and is the first female Pennsylvania State Chess Champion.

Space is limited and reservations are required. For more information, email Budzinski at gbudzinski@charter.net.
