More than 700 volunteers, ages 6 to 93, came out on Oct. 21 to package 160,000 meals at WEPCO. The meals filled 12 pallets that were delivered on four 26-foot trucks to Rise Against Hunger in New Jersey, which will distribute them to hungry children somewhere in the world. The annual meal-packaging event is an activity of Wi-ACT, a collection of 11 faith institutions in Wilton and the nearby area. Also helping out were two dozen boy scouts and their leaders from Troop 125 who helped carry the 50-pound bags of bulk ingredients. — David Cristini photo
