Wilton Center was Halloween Central last weekend, with the Pumpkin Parade + Trick or Treat on Saturday, Oct. 29, and the Halloween Hustle 5K and Scarecrow Scamper on Sunday, Oct. 30. Both events were presented by the Wilton Chamber of Commerce.

Families from Wilton as well as neighboring towns came to march behind the Cat in the Hat, admirably played by Michael Crystal, and an inflatable ghoul on their way to visiting local merchants and organizations that handed out treats.

Among them were the Wilton Congregational Church, School of Rock, Wilton Dental Association, Halstead Real Estate, and Coldwell Banker.

Politicians and members of political parties as well as the Wilton Fire Department, Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Wilton police were on hand to join in the fun as well.

Families gathered in the gazebo on the town green for photos at the event.

All took place against the backdrop of the Wilton Scarecrow Fest.

On Sunday, Oct. 30, more than 170 runners gathered under sunny skies for the Halloween Hustle 5K and kids’ Scarecrow Scamper, sponsored by Bankwell.
