Wilton artist Malu Tan’s exhibition Colorscapes opened Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Sarah’s Wine Bar at Bernard’s, 20 West Lane in Ridgefield. Tan is an abstract expressionist painter known for her strong gestural marks, texture and color palette. In her Colorscape series, she explores the minimalist qualities of a scene by painting closely cropped tableaux of sky, trees, and fields, as if seen through a viewfinder. She reduces the landscape to blocks of color while applying expressive marks and texture to create interest and movement. An artist’s reception will take place Sunday, Oct. 16, from 3 to 5.
