Church invites community to festive barbecue
Wilton Congregational Church will hold an All-Church Rally Day Celebration on Sunday, Sept. 8, following the 10 a.m. worship service. The rally will be held in the courtyard next to the sanctuary at 70 Ridgefield Road. Sponsored by the Fellowship Committee, this is an opportunity to meet and greet everyone in the church.
This is the day when children and adults all join together in what the church stands for. Various church committee members will be on hand to answer questions about the missions program, women’s fellowship, membership, the church’s upcoming coat drive, Habitat for Humanity volunteers, food drives, Christian education and the musical programs. There will be picnic food including hotdogs, hamburgers, fruit and drinks; activities for all ages including a bouncy castle, games, popcorn and face painting and more.
During the morning worship service, The Rev. Dr. Arnold I. Thomas will give a Pentecostal sermon entitled “You are the Church.”
All are welcome to attend the church service and Rally Day barbecue. Guests are invited to attend both dressed for the picnic. The event is free but free-will contributions will be accepted.
