Children in fourth through eighth grade can learn about Colonial kitchen cooking and customs on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 11 to 12:30, at the Wilton Historical Society, 224 Danbury Road. Each month, the Colonial Cookery and Customs for Kids workshop learn about Colonial cooking, manners, and way of life.
This month, the children will make a pattypan squash pie with a lattice crust. Pattypan is a variety of summer squash notable for its appearance similar to a flying saucer. A lattice crust is made by criss-crossing pastry strips.
