Child Guidance Center aids children affected by trauma

The Child Guidance Center of Mid-Fairfield County, which is based in Norwalk but serves Wilton,  received a grant of $35,000 from the Fairfield County Community Foundation to support a program that helps children affected by trauma.

“The center has recently established a specially trained group of clinicians in trauma informed evaluation and treatment in order to meet the growing need to care for children and youth affected by witnessing or being victims of traumatic events,” said Stuart Greenbaum, executive director of the center.

The center works with children, youth (birth to age 19) and their families facing behavioral health crises. The children are often the most at-risk and behaviorally challenged youth in the community. Fees are determined on an ability-to-pay basis. Information: 203-299-1315 or
