Candlelight Concerts presents Empire Brass Quintet

The third concert in the Wilton Candlelight Concerts 2014/2015 season will feature the Empire Brass Quintet in a program of works by Byrd, Mozart, Beethoven, Mancini, Herman, and Fats Waller. The concert will take place at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, at the Wilton Congregational Church on Ridgefield Road.

The five musicians of the quintet — all of whom have held leading positions with major American orchestras — perform more than 100 concerts a year in cities such as New York, Boston, Chicago, Washington, London, Zurich and Tokyo.

They include founding member Rolf Smedvig on trumpet, Oklahoma native Michelle Perry on French horn, Bermudian Kenneth Amis on tuba, percussionist Steve Wilkes, and Douglas Major on organ. Their repertoire spans Bach and Handel to jazz and Broadway.

Tickets for the Candlelight Concert may be purchased at the door for $30; $25 for seniors and students; 16 years old and under, free.
