Baptist church service, picnic will honor first responders
The Wilton Baptist Church will hold a worship service and picnic on Sunday, Sept. 11, to honor the heroic acts of first responders on the 15-year anniversary of 9/11.
The church, at 254 Danbury Road, has already invited police and fire departments to the 11 a.m. worship service, said Wilton Baptist Church’s interim pastor the Rev. Bill Bruster, during which state Rep. Chris Perone (D-137) will address the honorees and Bruster will offer a prayer of blessing.
The service will be followed by a picnic at Merwin Meadows, 52 Lovers Lane.
“The entire community is welcome to the 11 o’clock service and the picnic,” said Bruster.
