Art exhibition draws on colors blue and green
The colors of earth and sky will be featured in browngrotta arts’ 2018 Art in the Barn exhibition that begins April 28 and runs through May 6 at the gallery 276 Ridgefield Road.
Blue/Green: color/code/context is a multi-media group exhibition that will feature more than 50 textile, sculpture, and multimedia artists from around the world. They will be interpreting the colors of blue and green and what they symbolize as paintings, sculpture and tapestry.
“Blue and green, as colors they are elemental…sky, sea, blades of grass, leaves of trees, infinite in hue, tone, intensity and variation...indigo, azure, cerulean, celadon,” a press release says. “As metaphor, they serve as code, signaling a mood, a musical genre, naiveté, fertility, rebirth, prosperity, an affinity for nature.”
The exhibition will open with an artists preview on April 28 from 1 to 6 p.m. From April 29 to May 6, the event hours are 1 to 5 p.m. There will be a full-color catalog available at the exhibition or after May 1 from browngrotta.com.
