Almost nobody would argue that the ending of "Game of Thrones" was unsatisfying. In fact, the show's last few episodes were almost universally reviled, with co-creators David Benioff and D. B. Weiss receiving a lot of hate in the process.
Regardless of how you feel about the ending or the creators, there's some good news: One of the show's most popular characters is getting a spinoff.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a live-action show based around the Jon Snow character is in the early stages of development. Most people know Snow as the bastard of Westeros who stole everybody’s heart, a fan favorite, and avert your eyes if you don’t want spoilers — not the person who ultimately sat on the throne.
The show will likely take place sometime after the end of the main series, with Snow leaving to the North of the Wall to live with the Wildlings. That may translate to a deeper exploration of that area, its lore and all its peculiar mysteries.
As for Kit Harington, he's been busy since playing Snow, with appearances on "Eternals," "How to Train Your Dragon," and the upcoming "Extrapolations" TV series. Thankfully, he’s slated to reprise the role of Snow if the series proceeds, so there won't be a Han Solo-type of recasting debacle.
Altogether with this new spin-off, that puts seven different shows based on "Game of Thrones." In addition to the unnamed Jon Snow project, there'll be "House of the Dragon," "Tales of Dunk and Egg," "10,000 Ships," "9 Voyages," "The Golden Empire," and two more animated shows with scant details. There's a lot of GoT content on the horizon.
In the meantime, you can grab a subscription to HBO Max for just $9.99/month to gain access to a lot of great content, including the original "GoT" and spinoffs whenever they're released.
