Wilton seniors socialized at a teacup luncheon and hot soup tasting on Dec. 20, sponsored by Laurel Ridge Health Care Center at the senior center. The group tasted six different soups from Roly Poly restaurant and homemade tea sandwiches and assorted desserts prepared by Thomas Marshall, head chef and director of dining services, and Providence Donahue, at Laurel Ridge. For older adults, the benefits of luncheon gatherings such as this provide healthy eating and social bonding, which are key to a positive outlook and staying emotionally balanced. Gathering together to enjoy the lunch at the senior center is a weekly tradition carried on throughout the year. At the senior center are, from left, in front, Helen Ralph, Rita Caruso, Blanche Davidowicz, and Dorothy Hudson. In back are Liz Doty, coordinator for the Wilton seniors, Joan Jevne, Cary Brown, Kelly McCarthy, Isabelle Pinto, Rose Straite, Barbara Holdrige, and Bonnie Leavy-Mello of Laurel Ridge.
