Senior luncheon speaker recalls JFK’s legacy

Wilton resident Margaret A. Reed will be the guest speaker at the Seniors Club luncheon at St. Matthew’s Church on Thursday, April 23. She will talk about her recent trip to the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo and Waseda University for the international symposium on former U.S. President John F. Kennedy, titled The Torch Has Been Passed: JFK’s Legacy Today.
Drawing on the themes of Kennedy’s iconic inaugural address challenging citizens to give back, push the boundaries of science and innovation, and seek a more peaceful world, the symposium featured speeches from former President Bill Clinton,  Caroline Kennedy, U.S. Ambassador to Japan and the only surviving child of John F. Jacqueline Kennedy, as well as Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Lunch is at noon. For reservations, call the church office at 203-762-7400.
