Have you ever wondered what the Social Services Department is all about? Wilton Social Services Director Catherine Pierce, LCSW, will conduct an informational session on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 3 p.m. at Wilton Commons, 21 Station Road. She will outline the services available through this town department. The mission of the Wilton Department of Social Services is to meet the social and psychological needs of Wilton residents of all ages. This is accomplished by providing information and referrals regarding local, state and federal social service programs, financial assistance, short-term counseling, and by sponsoring the Wilton Senior Center and community programs for all ages. Lizabeth Doty, coordinator of senior activities, will present the offerings available at the senior center. Informational material will be distributed along with having a question and answer session following the presentation. Photo book workshop This workshop begins with the ABCs of electronic photo organization on Monday, Nov. 3, at 11 in the Comstock Computer Learning Center. Subsequent classes will cover dropping photos into a photo book on Nov. 10, and continuing the work on Nov. 17 and 24. Linda Thomas and Sharon Gialo of LT Organizing will be on hand to help.
