This booklet was printed through the generosity of The Wilton Rotary Club, and it is bursting with names and numbers helpful to Wilton seniors. A nonprofit, Medicare-certified, state-licensed home health care agency, working in partnership with families. Provides skilled professional care, including visiting nurses, social workers, physical, occupational and speech therapists as well as home health aides, companions and homemakers, and home care programs individually and specifically designed to meet the needs of terminally ill patients and their families with 24-hour availability of nursing care and psychological support. Volunteers available for emotional support and companionship for patients and their families. Also available: numerous support groups and educational workshops, respite care for families and caregivers, and special programs for the frail elderly and acutely ill.

‘Corridors’

Corridors is the bimonthly newsletter for the Senior Center. It is mailed to Wilton residents who are registered voters age 60 and above.  In July and August, Corridors is available at the Senior Center and on the town website at wiltonct.org. Just click on the newsletter icon on the right panel of the homepage.

Wilton geek squad

Need help with your computer? Confused with your new iPad? Don’t know how to use your phone?

Juniors for Seniors, in conjunction with the Wilton Senior Center, will help you learn all about your electronic devices. This one-on-one assistance will focus in on your individual questions so you learn as much as you can about your device. Call Lizabeth Doty at 203-834-6240 or Neal Sarup, president of Juniors for Seniors, at 203-762-7751 to schedule an appointment. This service is free and open to adults in the community. Sessions take place at the senior center.

Lunch and Bingo

Each Thursday, the senior center hosts a noon lunch prepared by Chef Karen White. After lunch, 10 games of Bingo are held in the Game Room.  Lunch is $3.  Call the Senior Center for reservations 203-834-6240.

Tai chi

Debbie Dong teaches tai chi in easy-to-absorb, effective, short sets of motions appropriate for any age. Tai chi has been shown to prevent falls and improve the daily functioning of seniors. Class is on Wednesdays from 9:45 to 10:45. There is a $3 drop-in fee per class.

Line dancing

Beatriz Araujo teaches line dancing on Mondays from 10:30 to 11:30. It is a great form of exercise and social interaction. Beginners as well as experienced dancers are welcome. There is a $3 drop-in fee per class.
